Practical Exercises Against Teeth Grinding and Teeth Clenching

Teeth grinding is a disorder that is usually not taken into consideration, but can lead to serious problems in the future. These involuntary movements during the night can cause waking up with tooth and jaw pain in the morning. Regular teeth grinding can even cause speech difficulties and jaw shift in later life. Therefore, it is of great importance to get treatment as soon as possible or to attach importance to exercises.

Fascia Relaxation Exercise
Fascia relaxation exercise can be an effective short-term solution against teeth grinding. This exercise allows the tissue called fascia located on the surface to relax with various massage techniques. In this way, problems are reduced by relieving the problem area. To do the exercise:

Place both hands on your chin and massage with slow up-and-down movements.
Straighten your chin by applying force towards the temples and repeat the massage by returning to the top of your ear.
Do the exercise 5 repetitions in 3 sets per day.

Teeth Clenching Exercise
Tooth tightening exercise provides regional relief after loosening the fascia. In this exercise:

Again, put both hands on the chin area.
Clench your teeth and apply pressure to the areas where you feel hard for about 5 seconds.
Release the pressure and relax.
Do the exercise 5 repetitions in 3 sets per day.

Staying Away from Stress
One way to reduce the problem of grinding teeth is to avoid stress. Activities such as meditation and sports can reduce stress and therefore reduce teeth grinding.

Daily Exercises
Doing daily warm-up exercises and movements benefits psychological and physical health. These exercises reduce stress and therefore prevent teeth grinding.

By doing these practical exercises regularly, you can reduce your teeth grinding and teeth clenching problems and lead a more comfortable life.
